Sweet & Spicy

I found a great use for these smaller-than-average heart and scallop window bakery boxes in the shop.  They make excellent packaging for spiced nuts!  The small window makes a great presentation, and they hold a little over a 1/4 pound each – the perfect snack size for gifting.  If you are looking for some fabulous mixed and spiced nut recipes to make yourself, I highly recommend these from the 28 Cooks blog:

Sweet & Spicy Walnuts (pictured above)

Jasmine Tea Almonds

Lemon Pepper Cashews

Chili Lime Peanuts

I’ve personally tried all of them, and they are easy and delicious.  Glazed and spiced nuts are a great gift alternative for people who just aren’t that into super-sugary sweets like fudge or chocolates.  Wrap them up nicely like this, and you have a fantastic little gift, perfect for any time of the year.
