Paper portion cups, sometimes called nut or souffle cups, also make classy and unique liners for cupcake baking!  Rigid enough to stand on their own, no need for a muffin pan. 

*Helpful Hint:  Whenever using the no-pan method, do not fill your cups more than 1/2 full of batter to avoid overflow when baking.  Notch the tough upper ring with a pair of scissors for easy removal, or serve cupcakes with a small party fork.
